If you are unfamiliar with Treehouse:
Treehouse Vineyard was established in 2013. They are a family-run vineyard producing small-batch, hand-harvested wines.
Centered around a family-built treehouse that is set high in a giant eucalypt, their wines are an expression of Tasmania’s pristine coastal environs: east-facing, dolerite soils, clear air, long autumn days and cool nights. Gently crafted in small quantities, therir wines speak of connection to place.
This boutique, family owned and operated vineyard at Little Swanport is the result of a dream to leave the city for a simpler life and is owned and operated by, Matt and Kate Carlin with the help of their son, Tom. Operating totally off grid. Our home and vineyard are built from self-milled timber and owner/builder construction. Their power and water are both off-grid, including the vineyard which is irrigated with water from two dams.
Treehouse are committed to maintaining the boutique integrity, with only 2.5 hectares of vines when at full production. This small scale enables us to tend by hand all stages of pruning, harvesting, leaf plucking, fertilising and overall vineyard care which they believe is evidenced in the quality of the wines produced.
In 2013, Grigio grapes were planted, followed by Chardonnay in 2020 and Pinot Noir in 2021 with the latter two expected to yield vintages in 2023/2024. The inaugural vintage of 2,136 bottles of the Treehouse Pinot Grigio was released in 2021.
