Boomer Creek takes its name from the local wildlife, with a ‘boomer’ being a large male kangaroo. First settled in the early 1800s, the property is now a third-generation family farm operated by the Walters family on Tasmania’s central East Coast.

The working farm is home to the Boomer Creek vineyard, fine-wool Merino sheep, Hampshire sheep, Hereford cattle and a three-hectare olive grove. The family produces boutique, award-winning cool-climate wines made entirely from grapes grown on the property, capturing the character of this unique coastal landscape.

A visit to the cellar door offers the chance to experience both the wines and the working farm. The architecturally designed, family-built cellar features some of Tasmania’s finest timbers, including a striking handcrafted Huon Pine tasting bar.

Taste your way through the Boomer Creek range, add a Tasmanian cheese platter and take in sweeping views across the surrounding farmland towards the Freycinet Peninsula.

Boomer Creek is open seven days a week from December to April, 11am–5pm, and Wednesday to Sunday from May to November, 11am–4pm. Closed throughout August.
